I had the pleasure of tasting a Douro 2021 red wine, from the Alto Douro region in Portugal, and I was impressed. The intense ruby colour immediately foreshadows a promising experience. The aroma is floral and fruity, revealing notes of ripe cherries and violets. It's clearly a jewel among the Douro 2021 wines. An experience I will remember and recommend to all lovers of quality mature wines.

Very well-balanced wine, well-defined fruit on the nose, good persistence, well supported by the acidity of high altitude winemaking, excellent value for money.

What a surprising wine. Complex flavours, with notes of red fruit perhaps in the form of jam. It's a vigorous wine that will live for years and will gain and strengthen its complexity over the course of the first 5 or 10 years. The truth is that it shouldn't come as a surprise. The raw materials come from vineyards that have already produced some of the Douro's best wines, and the winery was run by an oenologist with proven track records in some of the ex-libris of Portuguese "vinology"... MVCA and Jorge Coutinho joined forces at a good time. My Christmas choice is already made. Unbeatable value for money.
